THE HISTORY OF MANDAFOODS
Mandafoods Limited started in May 2004 with a product initially developed and produced from a home Kitchen and traded as a cottage industrial product, supplying the local retail trade.
In 2006 Mandafoods made a breakthrough into one of the multiples with an order to supply Manda African Chilli Sauce (Extra Hot) to Asda stores. It is now one of the top selling ethnic chilli sauces in Asda and one of the finest authentic chilli sauces available in London. The product USP is based on a secret family recipe taught to the founder Royda as a child in Zambia by her grand mother. There are few African extra hot sauces available in the mainstream retailers which makes Manda sauce distinct from other brands and it is pure vegetarian. It is low in fats and salt, chilli peppers are cholesterol free, low in sodium and calories, rich in vitamin A and C and a good source of folic acid, potassium and vitamin E. Chillies have a phenomenon known as diet-induced thermic effect. They have begun to emerge as the nutritional heroes of the future. The product adds those extra special touches that lift out of the ordinary and makes it stand out from other products.
The taste and flavour of Manda sauce are heavily dependent on quality and freshness of African herbs, spices and other ingredients (scotch bonnet and habanero peppers). Habanero and scotch bonnet peppers are two of the hot varieties of peppers that have a distinctive and fruity flavour used extensively in Caribbean and African cookery. Another difference is that Mandafoods has successfully combined a traditional recipe with advanced technology to produce a classic Manda chilli sauce.
